While exhibiting at CSUN 2014 this past week in San Diego, MaxiAids was happy to have music legend Stevie Wonder stop by to check out the latest innovations available to help blind and visually impaired individuals live and work more independently.
Wonder is no stranger to MaxiAids Products for Independent Living, its staff and its products, having been a regular customer for many years, and having visited the company’s Farmingdale showroom on a number of occasions.
During this year’s CSUN 2014: The 29th Annual International Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference, held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego, CA, Wonder stopped by MaxiAids’ booth and checked into a range of talking products. He was particularly interested in a Talking Color Detector which – when held up against an object’s surface – is able to recognize and announce its color.

Among the many other items Wonder and other conference attendees had a chance to try out were screen readers and other computer products, canes for the blind, marking and identification aids, low vision lighting, magnifiers, low vision, talking and vibrating clocks and watches, Braille products, and reading/writing aids.
